Executive Motor Imports ("we", "us") is a UK vehicle importer based in Birmingham. This policy explains what personal information we collect through emicars.co.uk (the "site"), why we collect it and how you can control it. We are the data controller for this information. What we collect

• Enquiries. When you send an enquiry, book a viewing or request a valuation we collect your name, email address, phone number and the message you send, along with the vehicle you asked about.
• Accounts. If you create an account we collect your name, email address, date of birth, postcode and phone number, together with the cars you save and the sourcing requests you make. Your password is stored only as a secure hash.
• Sign in with Google. If you choose to sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. We do not receive your Google password and we do not access any other Google data.
• Newsletter. Your email address if you sign up for stock updates.
• Technical data. Our hosting providers record standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) for security and reliability.

Why we use it

We use this information to reply to your enquiries, arrange viewings, source vehicles on your behalf, run your account, send stock updates you have asked for, and keep the site secure. The legal bases are the performance of a contract or steps you ask us to take before one, our legitimate interest in running a vehicle business, and, for marketing emails, your consent, which you can withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us.

We use your date of birth only to confirm that you are 18 or over.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. It is stored and processed by the providers that run the site: Supabase (database and login, hosted in the EU), Vercel (web hosting) and Google (only if you choose to sign in with Google). We may share details with finance or warranty partners, or with the DVLA and HMRC, only where you ask us to arrange those services or where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for up to two years after our last contact. Account information is kept while your account is open and for twelve months after it is closed. Records relating to a vehicle sale are kept for six years for tax and consumer-law purposes.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for it to be transferred to another provider. You can delete your saved cars and update your details from your account page at any time, or email us to close your account. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

The site uses only the cookies and browser storage needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
